Matt Robinson first joined Rideau View Golf Club when he was 12 years old and has been at Rideau View ever since. Matt turned professional in 1993 and became Rideau View’s Associate Professional in 1997. His passion for coaching and getting kids involved in the game has led to several nominations and awards from his peers in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. In 2007 Matt was nominated for three awards by his fellow PGA members – Assistant Professional of the Year, Teacher of the Year and Junior Leader of the Year. A further nomination for Teacher of the Year followed in 2009.

Matt has been married to his wife Dayna for 11 years (Dayna worked at Rideau View alongside Brigitte Pickwick during the summers when she was a student at the University of Waterloo) and they have 3 children. Their son Mitchell (7 years old) can often be found on the driving range attempting to steal away some of his Dad’s students and daughters Kathryn and Kristina (4 year old twins) have had their own story which the members of Rideau View Golf Club have followed and supported since their earlier than expected arrival in 2006.

Matt enjoys being a full time Dad during the offseason and currently sits on the Manotick/Riverside South Co-operative Nursery School board of directors where his daughters attend and he continues to be involved in the Cheo Foundation hosting his own Longest Day of Golf charity event at Rideau View Golf Club since 2008. The members of Rideau View and sponsors of the event have raised nearly $75,000 in the last two years which is another credit to the club and the family atmosphere with which it exudes.
